Leading the Way to a Sustainable Future

LEED is an acronym for "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - an independent, third party rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) that provides building designers and owners with a standard for measuring a building's degree of environmental performance. LEED buildings must include dozens of environmental features before being certified - with a corresponding point system based on these attributes. A total of 64 points are possible of the LEED scale, spread out among 5 broad categories covering global and local environmental issues. Five additional points are possible for Innovation and Design Strategies not specifically covered by the five categories. There are four levels of achievement: a minimum of 26-32 points is needed to become LEED "Certified", a minimum of 33-38 points for "Silver", 39-51 for "Gold", and 52-69 for "Platinum". Environmental Assessment Consortium defines and performs Assessments and Certification to UK, European and International Standards through set categories. Created by a multidisciplinary group of experts to overcome industry reservations on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
